How to use this tool
Choose Encode for an individual URL parameter or path component, not an entire URL. Choose Decode to read percent-encoded values. The tool uses encodeURIComponent and decodeURIComponent and flags malformed percent escapes.
Questions and answers
Should I paste an entire URL?
No. Encoding a complete URL will also encode slashes and colons. Use this on individual components.
Why do spaces become %20?
Percent encoding represents reserved and non-ASCII characters as bytes suitable for a URL component.
